Rear Spring Conversion, Seat Belts & Mountings
Permits either the original, or modern wheels and tyres to be installed without modifications to the bodywork.
Features an individual rear ride height adjustment facility.
Employs 2.250″ diameter chrome vanadium springs – readily available, inexpensive and obtainable in a wide range of spring rates.
Spydercars can convert your struts from 3.500″ to 2.250″ and have them returned to you in around one week.

The kit comprises:
- 2 x springs 2.250″ – Elan OR +2
- 2 x Lower Spring Seats: Adjustable
- 2 x Lower Spring Seat Locking Rings
- 2 x Threaded Steel Sleeves

These are a direct replacement for the original Lotus type with steel bearing housing eliminating the associated corrosion and bearing fit problems of the original alloy units. These have been designed to accept both the early Elan and later Plus 2 wheel bearing arrangement as used by Lotus or the twin large wheel bearings as used on our Rear Suspension Conversion systems. The struts will accept both the original Lotus size and a 2.25″ spring, both incorporates adjustable ride height as standard.
