7 The oil pickup pipe also needs changing to suit the sump we're going to fit. Be sure to keep everything, including tools, scrupulously clean when working with the sump off. |
10 1800 flywheel is the cheapest option, but this engine will br tuned to 200+bhp. So Andy's using a Raceline unit. Flywheel bolts need sealant as holes are not blind. |

8 The new pick up point pipe is from an 1800 Escort. Use a new gasket between the pipe and the block and be sparing if you use any sealant. You don't want it in the oil system. |
11 The 2-litre inlet manifold gasket (bottom) has slots cut into it for exhaust gas recirculation. Andy gets round this problem by using the 1800 inlet manifold gasket instead. |

9 The new sump is also from an 1800 Escort. The base isn't flat because it was originally designed to sit tilted in a FWD engine bay. Andy says this causes no problems. |
12 This raceline inlet manifold is designed to accept twin sidedraught carbs of throttle bodies. If you need a brake servo take off, drill and tap a venturi first. |
