SPYDER ROLLING RACE CAR CHASSIS
A most effective short wheelbase rear-engined layout, designed mainly for Sprint/Hillclimb competitions. Available in 2 or 4 wheel drive configurations.

The rear-wheel drive chassis above has been dimensioned to suit the Mini bodyshell. It is powered by a Ford CVH motor, transversely mounted on a Jack Knight gearbox, and installed in a Metro front subframe - suitably modified for rear-engine use. To keep costs down, the original Metro four pot caliper brakes and suspension systems are retained. The weight of the entire skinned chassis, including rollcage and all pickups, is 174.2 lbs - lighter than the average driver!

A versatile front-engined chassis designed to accept V8 or V12 power units, transmitting through a Getrag gearbox and Jaguar based final drive layout.

The standard frame provides a track width of 58" and wheelbase of 98". This is a beautifully balanced chassis with wide-based, Spyder-designed suspension systems front and rear to cope with considerable torque loading.
