Page 1 Issue 8002 SPYDER CHASSIS
Involves the replacement of the front suspension bulkhead and front outriggers, rear cross member and rear forks. Includes new chassis pick-ups for the top rear suspension conversion and wide based lower front wishbones. Shotblasted, primed and stove enamelled with a Six year guarantee.
Top link rear suspension and drive train system (RSC) for the Lotus Elite/Eclat. Reliability assured. Maintenance costs cut at a stroke. An extremely effective system designed by Spyder to suit the original Lotus chassis. All suspension loads are now fed directly into the frame - overcoming potential universal joint, wheel and differential bearing failures. Uneven tyre wear problems are also at an end and the new system provides adjustable camber control. See brochure for illustration and full list of parts.
Chassis converted to accept the RSC and wide based lower front wishbone systems.
The best relief for a diff under stress. Finished in black powder coating. It is vital that the high lateral forces, generated by the rear tyres of the Elite/Eclat, are transmitted and spread through the rear of the chassis. Avoid high point loadings on the differential/lower link spindle by fitting a heavy duty tie channel.
To ensure correct loaded length, rate (spring stiffness) and consistent ride height, Spyder supply only chrome vanadium road springs. For further information on the rear spring see page 2. |
