Dual suspension pick-up points accommodate existing rear struts or our own, more efficient double wishbone rear suspension system, redesigned engine mountings mean easier fitting of engine and gearbox, redesigned engine bay crossmember and spine mean that the sump and prop-shaft may be removed without the need to remove the engine and gearbox, also we use removable front wishbone spindles for easier removal of front suspension these are also replaceable if bent in a small accident rather than a major chassis repair as with the original welded fixed type.
All Spyder chassis are shot blasted, primed and 2K top coat painted after fabrication, and come with an eight year anti corrosion guarantee.
The second generation space-frame manufactured since 2005 can accept the Ford MT75 5-speed gearbox in conjunction with the original 1558cc Lotus twin-cam engine, this does also require additional parts such as prop-shaft, starter motor, gear lever kit, ring gear etc.
We can also offer a improved replacement stress skinned original type chassis with sensible improvement to help longevity but retaining original appearance, we do close the front towers add a tow eye fit stronger steering rack mounts, and a detachable engine bay lower crossmember, we fully shot blast then 2K prime and top coat all chassis standard colours being Red/Black/Grey any colour available at request but may incur extra costs.
