Spydercars in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, UK is part of Spyder Engineering Limited who have been specialising in the manufacture of replacement chassis and suspension components for the restoration of classic Lotus Elan /Elan +2, and Europa for over 30 years.

We can carry out all servicing needs for Lotus from early 1960`s Elan through to later Elise & Exige, also we can set the suspension using our computorised geometry set up equipment.

We pride ourselves in producing quality chassis and suspension parts for classic car restoration. We can supply chassis' direct to the customer for a DIY chassis replacement, or we can carry out the full chassis replacement at the Spyder works in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, UK.

Although we are a UK company based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire we also ship chassis and suspension parts to customers world wide with great success. We are always at hand to assist our customers with any help they may need to complete either a basic suspension repair, a chassis replacement, or a full restoration of their classic Lotus.

The chassis' we manufacture are a space-frame design. The wishbones we manufacture are of tubular design; this means the chassis can be repaired in modular sections should any accident repairs be required. This can work out more cost effective than a chassis replacement.

The Spyder Zetec conversion replaces the chassis and all suspension parts with modern reliable components, with the Zetec conversion, we replace the engine and gearbox with a modern 2 Litre 16valve twin cam engine and a five speed gearbox.

The suspension has been developed using the double wishbones front and rear, we also replace all the brakes with larger vented disc brakes at the front and solid discs at the rear. These have larger modern brake callipers. Once the chassis is built into rolling form, the complete body and interior restoration can be completed. The finished product is a reliable classic Lotus with modern benefits that few classic cars can offer.
